Cell phone Mexico help

Just hoping some guru here can answer a simple question.

May be traveling to Mexico next year. Am currently on a Verizon family plan. Just wondering if I can pick up GSM SIMs while there to use on the following phones:

iPhone 6
iPhone 6S
Moto X Pure
Note 3
Note 4
Note 2

Whew! I keep finding conflicting reports about the phones being Global and/or being able to use a local GSM sim.

I also have Verizon. When travling to Europe with a Note 2 a few years back I had no issues with putting in a local German Sim and getting service. I think I had to change the APN settings if I remember right, there was a verizon sim warning but all worked at least for data. I believe it's the same with the Note 4. I believe the iphones are also "unlocked".

Most of the LTE devices have the LTE bands sold as unlocked I do believe http://www.verizonwireless.com/ab...olicy.html

According to Google "Unlocking a Verizon phone. Even though Verizon uses CDMA instead of GSM, most of Big Red's devices come with an unlocked SIM card slot. According to Verizon, its 4G LTE devices aren't locked and, if you want to bring one of them to another carrier, there is no code needed to program the phone to play nice with it."

So in mexico if you find a carrier with bands that match you should be ok.

I'm pretty sure out of that whole list, iPhone 6S supports the most bands, but you'll have to look up the specific providers in mexico to see which ones you should actually care about, and cross-reference the phones.

I believe Verizon phones have an unlocked sim slot as part of their agreement with the FCC.

You do know that Tmobile has free roaming in Mexico right? It's pretty slow, but still fast enough to use google maps and check email. Also all texts are free. You'll have to check prices but it may be easier just to subscribe for a month.

Are you suggesting getting a Tmobile SIM? Sounds like an interesting idea anyway.
