We have a Sam's 10 mins away and a BJs 15 mins away. We drive 45 mins every 3 weeks and stock up at Costco.

Hi, I received an answer to my question but it didn't directly answer it. The person in the question above had a membership that expired in june and was told they could get the groupon because she would be considered a new member. How long do you have to be expired before being considered a new member?

Sorry for any confusion. As long as you don't have an active paid BJ's Membership you are eligible for this offer. Hope that helps to clarify.

Do we know if you can wait till your current membership is up and then wait a day and use this? What do they consider a previous or new member?

For those not getting the $17.99 price, open the link again in an incognito browser. It's a cookie based timer that last 15 minutes to purchase.

I think you are safe if you add it to your shopping cart? I waited about 15 to 20 min reading the details to see if I could use it as I already have a membership. I also use ABP and Ghostery so that could have been a factor also?

Has anyone with a previous membership taken the plunge? I purchased the Groupon deal before, but don't believe there was any fine print for previous members, just required that you weren't an active member.

It wont be valid till 48 hours after purchase so I don't think we will know for at least a couple days.

I bought two but even then if they don't accept it for the membership I believe they have to accept the value of the voucher.

At this rate BJ's should not even bother charging a membership.
