Prior thread which was marked dead for some reason

You may combine American Express 50-20 offer. Then you buy two set of oil and some 10 dollars random thing for 50. After both rebates (20+20), you just paid 10 dollars.

Rebate status can be checked here:
http://www.shellrebatecenter.com/...search.cfm

It is stated in the MOD's FP post, but I think it needs to be highlighted larger. This is not a new rebate.

Is synthetic really worth it? Cars are designed to run on conventional 10W-20. Just change it on schedule and you'll get 200,000+ miles out of your engine right?

To me, synthetic sounds like it'll leak past any crack faster than conventional would.

true. some turbo and supercharged engines might want to use good oil

but this is $20 for a two 5 qt jugs. which is a great price.

It's a good thing on high performance engines/ turbos or high end engines. Yea it will leak than conventional but leaks aren't created. It's only exploring existing spots. I use synthetic because it's cheap and I do my own oil changes.
