i saw this 2 days ago on bestbuy. been debating whether to buy what would be my first ssd or not. has plenty good reviews but one review that stood out was it is one of the slower drives.

The only thing that stood out to me was that the write speed 300/Mbps looks to be lower than others, but I still can't imagine it being that significant in terms of performance as it still boats 500/Mbps read speed. I'm sure someone else can chime in.

Spend the extra $10 for Samsung 850. Delta could be even smaller depending on taxes.

Is PNY still lying and cheating with their performance specs?
What do you mean?

It takes a few minutes to check the performance specs once you install the SSD. How could they cheat?

The other PNY with the fire tiger is $10 more for the 240GB.

The 850 Evo 250gb was just $60 at Rakuten with Masterpass coupon (you can do better if you wait, but this is not bad. There's been dozens of SSD deals in the last ~3 months). Frown I got this CS1111 a few months ago for $55 at Best Buy. Lowest price I've spotted yet for 240/250GB, but not quite as fast as Samsung.

Remember to activate your product online in order to bump up warranty from 1 year to 3 years.

$.25 a gig is getting attractive for SSD. Might bite.

PNY makes it a warm deal. Best Buy makes it not a deal (read; their best deals don't actually ship out just bring you to the site to make a purchase). yes I'm still bitter about the moto e failure from BF when Best Buy only honored some of the online orders.

I have both this drive and the SanDisk SSD Plus 240 Gb which was also $60 at BestBuy (and other places). On Atto they both get about the same read speeds at over 500 MB/s. For writing the SanDisk is about 410 MB/s while the PNY is slightly slower at around 380 MB/s.

People, spend a few more $$$ and just grab a drive that's MUCH better! These drives are decent for a low end SSD but the high end drives are not much further away in price, especially when u factor in NO taxes from quite a few online retailers and cash back sites, etc. I bought this drive a while back but sold it, I paid $112 OTD for a 480gb, and that was months ago.

*** Here is a link to one of the best drives on the market ***

Have Best Buy gift card so I'm tempted to bite, but think I'll wait on a deal as good as the Newegg through Best Buy (or BB to put the freaking Wii U on sale for once!)
