looking for best "deal" on a computer....

suzicue1969 17 10 December 4, 2015 at 08:06 PM
desktop or laptop, it doesn't matter. I don't have much to spend and mine just burned up. I still have my monitor though. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all and Merry Christmas.

Lenovo outlet:

Compare relative processing power of different computers by searching for the CPU on this list:
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php
Bigger numbers are better, some cheap computers have pretty weak processors equivalent to buying a brand new 5+ year old computer.

If you didn't buy something yet, this is on the front page and is a good deal:
http://slickdeals.net/f/8353521-acer-atc-705-ur5a-desktop-i5-4460-8gb-ddr3-2tb-hdd-and-128gb-sandisk-ssd-400-in-newegg?v=1

It costs more but you could argue it's a better "deal". The computers listed earlier would be fine for your needs.

What is wrong with this picture? Lots of people use SD without posting. Do you have to have posted some minimum of crappy deals before asking for advice on this forum or something?

I think he thought the OP of this thread was another spam poster. I know I was a regular visitor of the site for years before I registered.

We've had some unusual spam lately. First, a new user and first time poster (usually) asks a question usually relating to Microsoft office but sometimes other programs like lotus notes or winzip. Then another new & low post count user replies after a few hours to days with what would appear at first glance to be helpful but is really all about promoting a link that's usually on one of these domains or a sub domain there of: fixtoolbox.com or recoverytoolbox.com

I agree - good deal for the $400 plus they throw in an extra 128GB SSD. But this post should be in 'Help Me Find a Deal'

OP, the coupons for Dell Outlet expired Sunday. I don't remember if the next round of outlet coupons usually shows up before or after Christmas, the next round will probably be for the home outlet store not the business outlet store.

Help me find a deal would have been a better place for this, but that could have also resulted in recommendations for a bunch of machines with J1800 Celeron processors.
