I don't get it? How did we go from getting the latest smartphone for $50 (Galaxy S5) with a 2 year contract last year to $24 a month (Galaxy S6) or $576? What did I miss? Is there no contact? Even so, how is this better?

I only trade phones every couple of years. People would rather pay $24 a month than wait for a deal and pay $50 or $100 up front?

--Edit--
Ok so it looks like some stores had contact deals for BF for new customers, but existing customers had to go to their carrier, and they want you to pay the full amount over 24 months or do Next. With the contact deals for new customers, you start paying $40 per line instead of $20, ect...

Looks like the phone cartels are getting a lot more expensive, when it should be getting cheaper.

Time to hold onto my Note 3 and S4 as long as I can!
