Thoughts on buying tablet in China (Shanghai) and what heavy stuff to buy?

For those SDers who have gone to China what are you thoughts on buying a tablet?
This is for Shanghai (yes I know Shenzhen would be cheapest?)

There are countless android tablets for sale. Problem is support and updates.
Any brands to look at? Any brands to avoid?

Looking for 8"9 - 9"7 (maybe 10.1"?)

Mainly for reading textbooks and basic tasks. I care about good screen 5.0 android, and decent front/back cam. I don't need octa core or anything like that. Not for games.

Will there be any significant savings than ordering from Deal Extreme and places like that? If anyone had been there or ordered from china your thoughts would be appreciated. Also my friend lives there so if cheap to order online there and have it delivered can do that.

2nd questions. Can any one think of heavy things to buy that normal would be expensive to ship? I will have a whole empty suit case.

as i know, there are a lot of tablets from China on Amazon, ebay or Aliexpress. You can go to have a look. I think that will be much convenient for you to buy one from China directly.
