You're u2412m is a 16:9, 1920x1080 monitor. 16:9 is the same aspects ratio as HDTV's.

This u2415h is a 16:10, 1920x1200 monitor. 16:10 is a much superior (yet dying because it's more expensive to produce) PC format monitor.

Finally a x1200 deal, but unfortunately not much of a deal as they are still 2 expensive. I have 2 soyo 24 inch ips x1200, but stupid lack of hdcp is my only issue.
Hard to justify buying 2 new
Identical monitors just to get rid of my hdcp issue which only rears its ugly face with Windows media center tv

Give me 4:3 so I can add a few more monitors! these wide formats don't tile very well. I've failed to add a forth monitor for my workstation this black friday.

Yes, there was some mixed-up info in this thread. All Dell Ultrasharp 24's are 16:10 except the 2414. I have an old U2410 (bought from Dell outlet) and two U2412s which I like a lot. These are 16:10 (x1200). When the U2414 came out, I thought, great, a new Dell 24" -- and was surprised to see it was a 16:9 (i.e. 1080). For my use, I like the 16:10 format much better. I'm not sure why Dell changed for the 2414 model but maybe they had some people requesting it. As noted earlier, 1080 panels are very mainstream and have become very cheap -- 1200 panels will always be a "specialty" item, i.e. and have a higher price. I'm glad to see the U2415 has gone back to 16:10. I think the price is reasonable though maybe not a "hot deal."

Sure, you can get a boatload of 27" 1080 mainstream monitors for $200. Finding a U2713 or U2715-- good luck with that. You're looking at $400s minimum if you want this brand.
