Thread Details

I searched and didn't find this posted. Starting today, Cricket Wireless have "More from the Merrier Carrier" deal of $100 Bill Credit when you switch between 12/7 to 1/7.It's similar to the deal posted here. The difference is that your account automatically gets a $100 credit, instead of applying for a mail-in rebate, as in the previous deal. (Due to some wording in the detail line, I wasn't sure if you had to buy a phone for this. A rep confirmed that it worked even if you brought your phone). Shall try to add the chat-transcript in the Wiki below.

Offer details:
$100 Bill Credit: Offer ends 1/7/16. Req's porting elig. number (excludes ports from AT&T) & activ. on qual. plan in same transaction. New lines only. Basic phones excluded.

Must be active & in good standing for 45 days. Credit received w/in 60 days of activation. Credit is not redeemable for cash, has no cash value & is not transferable or refundable. Credit is forfeited if account is cancelled.

Limit: 1 per qualifying line. Activation Fee: up to $25. Bring Your Own Device: $9.99 Universal SIM Card Kit & unlocked, GSM-compatible smartphone req'd. Taxes, fees, charges & restrictions apply. Coverage & svc not avail. everywhere. Offer subject to change & may be terminated at any time without notice.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Chat transcript :
Me: I'm looking at the "More from the Merrier Carrier" promotion on your website. Is it available even when you bring your own device?
Nelson F: That is correct.
Nelson F: Is available when you switch to us
Me: The offer detail has something like "Buy elig. smartphone b/w $20 & $50", but a little below, it also says "Shop for a new phone, or bring your own unlocked phone". That's why I got confused.
Me: So according to you, this deal is good if I bring my own unlocked device - right?
Nelson F: That is correct
Me: Alright, that clears it up. Thanks for your help.
Nelson F: You are welcome.

Can you add 4 lines after you set up a new account and get $100 per the 4 new lines also???

Can I get the referral $25 if adding my friend to my account? In that case, I can earn $25 and get Group discount.
The referral is only for new accounts rather than new lines. So, adding a new line to your existing account wouldn't be a referral. You might be able to set up a new separate account for your friend to get the referral and then merge it into your account later.

I know you can't get the promo coming from an AT&T account but what about AT&T MVNO's such as Consumer Cellular? I don't see anything in the fine print but it would be nice to have a confirmation.

The terms of this offer appear slightly different from the previous deal, you must purchase a phone:

This is an additional stipulation, there is no indication if that means retail or sale price.

I saw that too....but if you then read the terms of the offer (fine print) it says nothing at all about needing to buy a phone.....typical Cricket sloppiness?

I can see it being enough for them to deny the $100 credit. What phones do they even offer between $20 and $50?

Says credit is forfeited when account is cancelled. Does that mean if I get 5 lines and cancel 4 of them, I'll lose credit on the four lines? I'm assuming I keep credits as long as the account is still open.

I think they changed the terms of the deal. There doesn't seem to be any mention of buying a phone anymore.

I noticed the "chat" in the wiki above....apparently phone is not required. They sure indicate it is based on the one sentence that you and I read. Very misleading....

You need to keep the account open through a second billing cycle within 45 days (so you are gonna pay 2 monthly payments at least). It's a good deal if you really want to be a Cricket user. It's not a good deal (or free money) if you don't want to be a subscriber. Obviously they aren't totally stupid....they aren't gonna pay you $100 if you port to Cricket for 1 day then port out again. And besides, the offer is for a $100 statement credit, so whattya gonna do with that when you cancel the lines?

i was hoping it'll be like a month or something. So I pay a month and then keep using it till the $100 runs out, and I switch back to t-mobile.
