I've been wanting to try out one these for a while, but the $20+ price tag has kept me away.

My Lowes has these for $12.48 each! Normal price is $24.97. I believe these give off enough amperage to charge tablets. Unlike some cheaper options, these give you let you keep both electrical outlets. Note: The outlets are tamper resistant.

Shows $29.38 for me so could be regional. May want to add YMMV in title. Definitely a good deal at this price. I installed a similar one beside my bed and highly recommend. Very convenient.

Sad thing if you know what I know. They take a regular outlet add as mosfet and usb port about 50 cents in parts then they charge so much for the resulting product.... Just Crazy

$12.48 at two stores (Everett, Lynnwood, WA), and $25 at two others near me.

Thanks OP, but still hard to justify at $12 when the tamper resistant 15 amp outlets cost $1 each. Frown

Did you even read the title, description, or view the link? These are USB outlets, not just standard TR electrical outlets.

Sorry, didn't mean to be. I see that my post is getting the thumbs down treatment already so I felt like I was in a hostile situation with all the negative replies OMG.

These should be standard in the building industry:
One of these per room...at least.
Two in the kitchen.

The point was that it shouldn't cost $11 more for two USB outlets. Yes, I read the title, description, and the Lowes description. Yes, I left it to the reader to infer what I was talking about, but I still think folks got the idea. Yes, your post was meant to be rude. You admit it with the "hostile situation". No, I didn't thumbs down your post.

Sil,

I just didn't see anything regarding USB in your response. My bad for not trying to figure it out lol. I figured these are kind of nifty. I know that they are a pretty cheap concept, but I could never piece one of these myself as cleanly.
