BATTERIES: Laptop & Cell ... Where to Buy?

msavy11 317 25 December 8, 2015 at 11:49 AM
I am looking to replace batteries for two cell phones and two laptops. There are soooo many scammers on eBay I can't figure out who's legit. So, I figured I'd consult the SD experts! I'd like to keep the cost low. Thanks

Samsung Charge 1600mAh
Samsung S4
HP G62T-250 MU06 4200mAh (Battery No 593553-001)
Asus Q500A-BHI5N01

Anker probably has batteries for the S4 and I would trust that.

That Samsung charge is a 4 year old phone that had some issues from day 1. Sure you want to spend the money for a new battery? As for it and the laptops I would probably look to amazon and take a chance on something. If you don't want the chance you can probably buy from the manufacturer for 4x the cost of amazon.

Thanks. This is very helpful info.
I'm not looking to spend a lot of cash on the batteries of the older units, but don't want to throw money out the window either or fry my devices.

I'm stuck with the S4 because Vzn isn't offering any good incentives to upgrade the phone.

Basically, I'm looking to turn the Charge into a free at home phone using Google Voice and Hangouts. It's a process getting it to work though, because the phone is too old to load Hangouts Dialer. So, I'm currently at a standstill getting that fully functional.

Not a lot of risk of frying your device. Chances are the batteries won't have the capacity they state and or life won't be as long as an OEM battery.

As for the charge, I think I would look to a different phone that's more compatible.

I don't want to spend money on a home phone and this device seemed to be the way to accomplish that for Free (minus the cost of a new battery). Other than that, the Charge is used for watching videos on my home WiFi. It's not heavily used, but would be used to make calls IF I can get the Hangouts Dialer installed, or similar. I was thinking about posting another thread asking for help side loading it or another app that would accomplish same.

The app probably has dependencies that won't work with your version of Android etc. Not sure sideloading is your answer but maybe. A tablet would also probably work for this purpose.
