So guys. i bought the monitor below. i have a dual video card setup now with my video cards being about 4 years old. i figured they could handle it, but this monitor wants 2560x1080. anyone have any good ideas on a cheap but decent video card. i wasnt looking to spend more than $50-70. i dont do gaming, just work and i want the monitor to be clear and get the full IPS quality out of it.

1 x ($229.99) LG 29UB55-B Black 29" 5ms HDMI UltraWide LED Backlight LCD Monitor IPS panel 250 cd/m2 DCR 5,000,000:1 (1000:1) built-in speakers

There are a lot of boards that can do that, it really depends on what you want to do, spend and what power supply you have. Normally I would recommend something like the GeForce GTX 750Ti 2GB which can be had on sale for around $100-$110 for something pretty good and not excessive. For cheaper, you can take a look at:

Which will give you an idea of fire power vs cost.

You can also try ebay for a used, which might be a better route to save some money and get something a little better.

What kind of video card do you have right now? Most video cards have been able to provide that resolution for a while. If you're using an older video card you probably need a dual link dvi cable or display port.

Exactly this. A 4 year old card should be able to give that resolution no problem.

OP how are you connecting the new monitor? Have you updated your drivers?

You can probably have it working fine with a dual link dvi cable.
