Wife had them on the Christmas list. These can be "renewed" by washing, but eventually they need to be replaced and it's always good to have extras so one can be prepped while the other is cutting.

Good deal.

I hope all of you don't actually have a cricut. Silhouette is just so far and away better.

I concur, which is why I use a lot of cricut supplies, like this mat, with my silhouette!

Interesting. Could you please tell me the reasons that the Silhouette is better? I just bought a cricut for the wife but can still return it if need be.

^^^ I'm interested to hear more of your opinions on why. I only ask is because my DW asked for a vinyl printer and I got a Cricut on BF for XMAS. The reviews were good, just some complaints of the software, but that's about it. I did see that Cricut and Silhouette were the top brands, but I'm genuinely curious if I should get something different. First time she'll be using one.

My wife and I have three Cricuts and a Silhouette. There are good and bad for each of them. And of course, the newer machines have more capabilities and are generally better than the old ones. So, it really depends on which Cricut you compare to which Silhouette. People making claims really need to qualify their statements with which machines they are comparing and only after having used both.

You are actually right and I was comparing the two based on my use of the old machine which would NOT let you use your own shapes without buying them. It seems like they now changed that? Having both of the new ones you are likely best to describe pros and cons.

Yes. The newer Cricut machines support SVG and system fonts natively. Even has print-and-cut and a separate pen/marker holder on the head. But there are downsides. Like the new software is only available as a web app, which is good and bad.
