Verizon.com has Verizon 802.11g Fios WPA 2 Router (Refurbished) for Free. Shipping is $5.99. Thanks HotBBQ

Note, product photo may differ from actual product, however functionality remains as stated on item page. According to some community members, if purchasing with your Verizon account you may need to turn in your existing rental to avoid potential charges.

I stumbled on this thread [dslreports.com] at DSLReports.com. It seems Verizon is giving away their older model FIOS routers for free. You just have to pay shipping ($5.99 for UPS Ground). The router order page can be found here [verizon.com].

Note that there are a number of revisions to this router. The users in the forums have noted that they were receiving the latest revision (MI424WR-Rev-I). This is the same model that I am currently using with my 75/75 internet service. I plan on using the extra one as a mocha bridge for my entertainment center.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

This can be used as a MoCA bridge so you can connect another room to your main router via coax. You can use two as a bridge without Verizon FiOS or add one to an existing Verizon FiOS setup to add the room.

Instructions for using it as a network bridge: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r...ork-bridge

Can this be used as a basic router? Without having Verizon FIOS?

Pretty nice for MOCA bridges, though they are bigger than I'd like if deploying them for TV use.
