gglcool 2 10 December 10, 2015 at 07:12 AM
I went and bought a Virgin Mobile -LG Tribute 2 (cause it was listed in forums as compatiable phone)and wanted to use it for RingPlus- i enterd numbers off the box and RingPlus accepted the phone and i was gonna sign up and it failed for some reason something bout zipcode wrong or something?I didnt see were to change that my cc was good,
Now the phone is saiyng sim is locked and turns off phone with limited funcunatilty.
What is it i need to do to get this phone working with RingPlus? Id be forever in debt for you kind deed and help thanks
SIDE NOTE
The phone has NOT been activated thru Virgin Mobile .Is this correct? I thought if you activated thru another provider it had to have service for a year before it could be used on ringplus?

I just need to get this up and running i dont use alot of minutes so the freeplan they carry will be perfect for me thanks peepsSmilie

I have setup multiple phones from different sprint type carriers and have always followed the procedures to a T and no problems ever. A few things to consider -

*did you check the ringplus is available in your area? ( you mentioned something about zipcode wrong or something. that doesnt really explain the error you received)

*the phone needs to completely stay off until its fully registered and active on ringplus

*have you visited this FAQ part of their site? They do have live chat and you can submit a ticket https://ringplus.net/faq/

If you turned the phone on then you have already failed the Ring+ activation. You have to activate and do all the steps online BEFORE the phone is turned on even once.

The phone has not activated i shut it down before it did , Im guessing RingPlus it didnt go thru Because the address i put in wasnt in the stated coverage area for sprint I think ill use a friends address which is in the area and it should go thru .
What happpens after i activate it thru RingPlus and i turn the phone on- wont it want to activate again? and what should be done ?
Since this is a Virgin Mobile LG Tribute 2 i beleive the sim is locked- do i need a sim card also? and thank you for taking the time to help

If the sim is locked, you will need a new sim. Or go to Sprint store and beg for a free sim.
