Thread Details

I saw it as an MSN search when I went to look something up earlier. There's a Kickstarter page for it and they have their own website as well.

Kickstarter page:

The website for it:

Looks neat. This part in the "about us" rubs me the wrong way: "PINE64 comes from the combination of two constant variables – Pi and Euler’s Number e and 64 comes from our 64-Bit computing power. "

It's planned to be a quad core arm processor so no. Android is what you will likely see. I can't see this being possible for $15 though. Price will have to go up and render it obsolete in comparison to everything else on the market.

Years ago I would have gone nuts about it, but now we are starting to see sub $100 x86/x64 machines on a stick running windows 10. The arm pc stick market is flooded with way too many chromecasts, apple tvs, vita tvs, rokus and who knows what else.

Well, there are "PC's on a stick" that plug into your monitor. Though, they cost a LOT more.

It can handle a bunch of Linux flavors, too. It's on their website. Same with the pricing. $15 gets you 512kb RAM and limited I/O. There are two other SKUs with more options and RAM, maxing out at $29.

so.. 64 bits is nice and all, but what is the point if it's only got half a gig of ram? wouldn't a 1gb 32 bit version be better (such as what is on a raspberry pi?)
