Yes, that too.. Takes a lot of credit card churning to get 200K miles though.

Sure, I'll play.

1.To get the 100,000 point round trips, both days actually need to have availability in MilesSaver Business Class fare. Otherwise it's 110,000 points for one-way

2. And since you're on American going to Europe, majority of award flights go through Heathrow which means you'll pay $800-$1,000 for each ticket even after you redeem frequent flier points.

3. Finally, this is not just a $ cost. You also forgo the considerable AAdvantage awards you'd get from actually buying the business class trip

Hey, it's your money, but considering variations on this "buying miles" exist ALL YEAR LONG, not sure what compelled you to post this time

We got 260,000 AAdvantage points in 2 months. 2 Citi personal and 2 Citi business AAdvantage cards with sign-on bonuses. Done and without shelling out $ on a continuously devaluing award points

If I purchase these points under my account, can I use them to purchase tickets for family members?

With tax it's $3,994. Also AA is devaluing it's miles early next year. So if you have a trip in mind that is available and it makes sense cost wise go for it. I wouldn't recommend buying the miles and holding.

So many haters here. Below 2 cpm is a good deal for buying miles (best I've seen this year from AA)

1) Yes, everyone knows that. Availability is considerably better than some other airlines such as Delta.

2) There are many routes that do not go through LHR on AA metal and even more if you factor in partners.

For example, 135K miles gets you in F on Cathay Pacific from JFK-HKG. That's a $25K flight any day.

3) If you are looking into buying these miles, you're not the same type of person who books J flights

So glad I fly AA business/first class through family perks. Airline costs are ridiculous.
