I just found out I got banned from Jet.com. I had 4 accounts where I used one of the 20% promo codes with the latest being one I created this morning. They deactivated sometime today apparently and a call to customer service confirmed this. My order from this morning is still in process, so I'll see if it ships.

I did have a strategy to avoid this, but it obviously did not work. I previously deleted the credit card and address from each of the used accounts after the order shipped to keep the accounts from being flagged as duplicates. They must retain the shipping and/or billing info elsewhere and search off of it.

I thought it might be helpful for others to see how many accounts others had and what the circumstances were to help non-banned users stay that way.

Accounts: 5 banned accounts. 1 of these is an account created since ban (new email address) which was banned the next day after order was shipped.
Same Name: Yes
Same Address: Yes
Same Credit Card: Yes on banned ones. Used a separate one for the 5th account.
Used Coupons: Yes
How Many Jet.com Accounts do you have with the same address?

How do I know I was banned? When you try to log in with any of your banned accounts, you will get the message "This combination of email and password does not match an account on record. Please try again.". Previously the system would allow you to reset your password although you still couldn't log in. Now the reset link they send you just redirects to the main jet.com homepage and doesn't allow a password change.

Will I get a notification my account was banned/deactivated? It doesn't appear that you will

What will a call to customer service tell you? That your account was deactivated due to a security concern, but they won't tell you specifically why.

Will my order still ship? It's possible, but could go either way. Mine is still processing (per the customer service rep) and another user mentioned items from 3 out of 4 of their banned accounts shipped.

Can I create a new account after being banned? YMMV, but I was able to using the same name/address from my banned accounts. It was banned the next day after placing an order that shipped successfully. However, additional account creations have resulted in the orders immediately being cancelled after submitting (using a coupon) or later in the day (not using a coupon).

Why do they allow new accounts to be created after being banned? The running theory on various threads is that they are trying to artificially boost their registration numbers, so they can sell their company to someone else.

My buddy used his brother's name and cc but same address. And at that 2nd attempt he got a phone call from them asking for verification which resulted in account ban.

I think the amount that you order is one of the major factors to whether they flag your accounts or not. So far I've made 3 or 4 accounts all made relatively low under $150. All used same address, but different combination of relative's credit card info and names.

BTW not banned.

Some interesting posts I found about jet.com banned users in this thread: http://slickdeals.net/f/8117380-30-jet-com-credit-3-month-membership-10-50-new-customers-only?src=&page=12#comments

Ok so all of my accounts got locked, but out of my 4 orders, 3 shipped. My last one was under $30, so I didn't use a credit card for it, that's probably why they could cancel it. It's good enough for me. Obviously will never do business with them again.

Update, JET closed my account because my neighbor had an account (same address, live in apartments) even though his unit # was different from mine. They are not giving a refund because I "violated" their terms of use. What are my options?

i bought these giltcity Jet.com New Customer Coupons and giltcity told me that i can only use once per account...
so i created 8 accounts and i*ve got banned.

They told me that i'm banned now forever and i have no chance to use them again.

they did not ban my creditcards, they banned the adress.
and banned also the single-account of my wife (different last name) (same adress)

If you made so many accounts in a short time frame with matching info, you deserve to be banned. Use your head.

No you didn't have to buy so many new customer coupons from gilt city. you should have only bought 1 since you can only be a new customer once.

Just b/c someone tells you to violate Jet.com's Terms of Service doesn't mean you should or that there won't be any consequences if you do.

if i create 8 accounts or two, it really doesnt make a difference.
in other threads there are also people banned, because of a neighbor with the same appartment adress.

and btw. there is nothing in the terms of use about multiaccounting ;-)

Well you don't need to expressly say something in a contract for it to be an enforceable term. I think when you read the terms as a whole it is clear that a member has an account and that having multiple accounts to obtain new customer discounts when you are not in fact a new customer is deceptive.

I was banned and then asked them to remove the ban. Was able to get one account reopened.
