Is this an evolution of the G500? The G500 is my favorite mouse. I can't say that I've used many different mouses over the years but the G500 has allowed me to obliterate noobs online in Titanfall and Call of Duty for many many years.

this matches the black friday price. this mouse gets a lot of love. the only thing i personally don't like is the scroll wheel. otherwise, an excellent mouse

Great mouse! Got one on Black Friday and love it! I personally think the scroll wheel is fine so it's definitively a matter of personal opinion. Go check one out in store if your Best Buy happens to have a gaming display.

No, that's the G500s. This is an entirely different mouse.

It's very similar, but they revised the shape and button layout some. The weighting system was also changed slightly; it's a series of little boomerang-shaped weights that snap into a 4-way pattern under the mouse rather than being part of an ejectable cartridge.

I personally like the G500/G500S style a bit more, but I used a G502 at work for a while and liked it almost as much. Still leagues ahead of other mice IMO.

I didn't like the weight of this mouse and ended up going with the mamba TE. at $39 it is a good mouse if you don't mind the weight and if it fits your hand well. FOr some reason my pinky ended up hurting after long gaming sessions with this the G502.

Wrong, the G502 is a complete redesign using an optical sensor compared to the laser on the old models. There is no acceleration on the G502 unit.

Cool, good to know. My G500 mouse stopped working after several years but I was able to get another one before the price boom. They sell for like $150 on Amazon right now EEK! . I'm very hesitant to change my mouse. Its like a third hand to me. I've got the perfect weights, the perfect DPI, etc. I can move the mouse a pixel at a time with perfect precision. I just don't think I want to spend a few weeks/months getting accustomed to it. I guess I'm going to wait until my current G500 dies. Hopefully many years from now **fingers crossed**.

i feel you. i play a lot of shooter and i've been using mx518 (which looks very similar to G500/s) for over 5 years. i tried three different logitech (g502, g602, g700s) and just couldn't get used to it when playing FPS. the only mouse i haven't tried is G500/s and i'm just waiting for a price drop and/or my current mx518 to fail...
