Official steps:
Quote :
You don't have to open the Android Pay app to make a purchase with your NFC phone; just follow these steps:

1) Wake up and unlock your phone.
2) Hold the back of your phone against the contactless payment terminal.
3) If prompted, choose "Credit" regardless of your type of card
Extra tips to avoid looking like a fool in line:

Make sure NFC is turned on, and touch your phone to the *screen* of the swipe machine. If it's not detecting, make sure your phone is literally touching it or resting on the machine. I say this even though it should work within 4 cm, but it's contingent on your device's NFC sensitivity and/or your phone case.

Hold it there till you see the green check mark with your payment card on your phone's screen.

CONFIRMED as working using the same credit card but must use a different Google account and a different Nexus device.

Aka it won't work multiple times on a single Nexus device, and it won't work multiple times on a single Google account (since the offer is 1 per user).

Best Buy gift card will be displayed in your Android Pay app, and can be scanned at the store, or used online under the gift cards section when checking out.

Did anyone try buying something online and did it work ?
Also, what is this AMEX offer people keep referring to?

***It did NOT work for me when I made a purchase through I called customer care and they told me I must go to a retailer and "tap n pay" to get the promo! So don't expect to receive your gift card unless you physically go to a store to use Android Pay.***

$20 statement credit with $199 purchase

One data point: ordered things on Dec 13,14,18 through Android Pay, received my $20 card in Android Pay application (not email) on Dec18. I use Fidelity Amex

How does this work? If I link my Amex card to this, will I get both this gift card and the $20 Amex offer rebate?

I'll have to grab something later today using my Nexus 6 and hope for the best (the fine print says it may take until January 31, 2016 before the Best Buy credit appears in the app). Thanks for the heads-up!

Is there a minimum that I need to buy? Would a 15$ Best Buy GC work to get this eligible?
