Must be awkward to wear your phone on your wrist.
There's one in every thread. This watch went to the moon. Your phone will probably die if you splash water on it and will be outdated in 12 months max.
Panerai now sells $4850 used. Paid $1800
Rolex GMT $5K used. Paid $2200
Submariners $5-7K used Paid $2200
Speedmaster $3000 used Paid $1200
Sinn Military $3000 used Paid $900

Here is another example. 1996. I had a Wallstreet MacBook. This guy wanted it so bad, he traded me a
transitional Submariner. I paid $600 for that laptop. That exact Submariner sells for $8000-10000 in MiddleEast and Japanese market.
The laptop, at best, can fetch $150 today. It was the 14" with a DSTN (dual scan screen).

Sure, there is inflation to account for but watch companies regularly increase their price to keep up. In turn, this keeps up the price of the used, secondary market. A perfect example is the ceramic Rolex GMT 2. In 2006 or 2007, I bought one for $5000. Today, that same watch sells brand new for close to $10K. I can easily sell mine for $7K..... Certain watches are very liquidable.

Lastly, I want to add.. The Speedmater Pro is an ARCHETYPE classic. It has been a design icon for 60 years. It falls under the category of one of the iconic classics. Thus, it will withstand the changing fads, trends and changes in taste. Thus, its resale is pretty much guaranteed. It has gone through close 6 decades of changes in taste. So it is a regular staple in horology. You will never loose money on an design classic.

This is NOT automatic but actually a manual winding model.
(it SHOULD be, since it is Speedy Pro chrono)

Very nice watch. I wish I have the money to afford it.

Quick question about manual winding. Does that mean I have to wind it by hand every day?

The specs say 48 hr power reserve so maybe every 1-2 days.

Automatic or hand wind does not dictate the price. Some of the most expensive Patek's are hand wound. The speedy is a very nice Omega especially at this price.

Is this better then the clock on my phone? Because my phone seems to be pretty accurate.

I paid $1200 for one in 1997 from an Authorized Omega retailer. ref 35070 (moon watch). Brand new. Still have the box and papers/receipt. I then paid $2700 for a limited edition white face (Paul Newman style dial) in the mid 2000s. How times have changed. Watches definitely hold their value. A BMW 7 series went for 70K back in 1997. The same car sells for $1400 on craigslist in the ghetto. Watches are not investments but all of mine have appreciated in value... E.G. Rolex Subs/GMT/Explorers was $2200 when I got mine. You cant buy it for those prices anymore. Same with Panerai for $1800.

Can someone explain hand winding? So you have to wind it every 2 days? Why? Sorry - not trying to thread crap, but don't see the purpose.

Still waiting on a Rolex. Now between Submariner w/ date vs Sea Dweller 4K!
