I'd be all over it if it had the 1600x900 panel.

It is very nice deal, but TP T420 is not on Win10 supported list. LMAO

I bought mine a month ago on ebay for $105. It had no hard drive, nor memory. But I had 4gb laying around, and an ssd, as well as a 500gb hard drive to put into the cdrom slot.
It was 2540, so it came with a very slightly more powerful processor.
They were selling them in bulk. I all most bought three of them.
All and all, it's a fast laptop being that it came out in 2011.
It's a generation 2 i5, so it doesn't have the slow problems that the gen 1 had.
Has a cool light that lights up the keyboard, multiple expansion slots, cd rom ejection button, dual mouse clicking buttons, and much more.
You probably don't need a laptop cooler for these, as they have great cooling, the reason why they are so bulky, and not the lightest either.
You can get a docking stand on ebay for around $20 used/refurbished.

hmm I paid 125 for a basically brand new looking one but it came with 4 GB and 320 GB hard drive and had the Core I5 Vpro processor and then with an 8 GB ram upgrade and SSD it came out to probably 185-190 and if I ever sell that 4GB ram it'll come out to less.

These are nice machines...got one off ebay a couple of months ago for $152 all in. It has 4gb in 1 slot and a 160hd, but I figured I had a spare 250gb ssd lying around.

It was a pleasant surprise when it turned out to be a 1600x900 res screen and had an extended battery that had 97% of its design capacity.

Had to get a $10 OEM used charger off the bay, popped in 4gb in the other memory slot for $19, and put the ssd in.

After clean install of Windows 7, and drivers off the Lenovo site, it was a great deal for $180.

Got a dock for $20 off ebay, and plan to hook it up to a monitor when I clear some space in my home office.

I would check ebay for some off-lease machines. Since a good majority of them are just off the lease this year, there are tons on ebay being sold by Microsoft resellers/ refurbishers for less...Plus, Get a description of the unit, and can ask the seller questions about the machine.

Not that much a difference on a 14" screen and the text would be even smaller on the 1600x900 screen. Usually you find 1600x900 on 17" laptops. That being said $200 for a soon to be 5 year old laptop model with average specs (at the time) and no 3.0 USB ports seems about right, not a great deal IMO, just a fair one. I paid $125 for my 14" Compaq 6510b three years after it came out, on it right now and never gave the 1280x800 screen a second thought, in fact when I use other people PC's, like my wife's, I don't even really notice a difference in quality and I have 20/20 vision. You get immersed in what you are doing and the mind ignores the resolution. Plus, as we all know there are many other things that affect the quality and detail of a screen other than resolution. My little rant aside, my point is if you think it's a good deal I'd grab one.

check out Staples. I think they had one with a SSD and decent resolution for a little more.

Love my T410. Has the classic style Thinkpad form factor and solid construction. Great keyboard.

Its a good computer. Just the newegg service sucks. The newegg service is getting worse every day. Return is almost impossible. Waiting times for online phone calls and webchat are always 20 or more minutes. I got a T420 with video card issue and replacement takes forever.
