Need help brainstorming USB Mini Cable Solutions

I have a pulse oximeter, that can be connected to a computer via a USB mini port on it. The pulse oximeter needs to be connected to a finger probe to get pulse ox readings. The port on the machine is a female USB mini. The probe has a USB mini male connection to plug into the machine. I'm trying to figure out a way to plug the machine into th e probe and a computer simultaneously. The machine only has the only USB mini port, and the probe only has the one USB mini connection. USB mini splitters don't seem to exit to the best of my googling.

Can you post a picture or diagram? I am a little confused on what you want to do.

If you had some soldering skills you might be able to build a custom cable to do what you want but I would be concerned about over voltage etc.

I would make sure the pinouts are what you think they are too. Lot's of medical devices use a common port but the pinout is different.

Edit: http://www.mdbuyline.com/wp-conte...a-Time.gif Do you have something like that? and you want to plug in to both the probe and the pc at the same time?

I'm not home right now, but this is the model I have, no Bluetooth.

I want the finger reader and a computer cable plugged in simultaneously. Right now I just use a standard USB mini to 2.0 cable to upload it to the computer, but I can get more information if it's plugged into the computer at the time it's being used (it doesn't store all data collected for future upload).

It probably isn't possible. I doubt the micro-controller in there was programmed in a way that it could support both types of connections simultaneously. I wouldn't be surprised if the probe doesn't even conform to the usb spec, the way it uses the wires in the usb cable could easily be different.
