Upgrade of IBM thinkpad

OK....so I bought this.

http://slickdeals.net/f/8377855-it-s-back-dell-inspiron-i3147-10000slv-windows-10-laptop-199-fs-staples-com

It hasn't been delivered yet.

I currently have an "older" tablet.

IBM thinkpad with a Atom Z2760, 2GB ram, running windows 8.1

Even though the Pentium N3540 in this system isn't a powerhouse....
I'm ASSUMING it will be a big step up in performance.

Faster CPU, and a 64-bit vs 32-bit CPU
Double the Ram ( 4GB vs 2GB )

Any thoughts ???
If it's not going to be a big step up in performance...I'll just flip it.

I am planning on popping in an SSD....I have many of them lying around ( darn slickdeals )

Only thing I use it for is surfing the web, watching videos, etc.
And the old IBM is starting to choke, just with these simple tasks.

I also posted this question on the other forum that had the deal....sorry about the dual post.

Been on Slickdeals a long time....didn't even realize they HAD a tech support forum !

LOL

Here are the CPU benchmarks for those processors

Yes it's an upgrade not tremendous but still not a fast PC. For the money you paid probably worth it.

The extra ram will be nice, but 64bit doesn't really matter if your not going to increase the ram. I would be careful about the ssd you put in as you don't want it to be more than the laptop is worth.

I'd love to hear how this works once you put an SSD in it. I did the same with a cheap ASUS laptop I bought through Slickdeals when Windows 8 first came out and it took a barely usable system and made it quite nice. I like the fact this little Dell has a backlit keyboard and it's the right price to replace that ASUS - would love an update once you get it and upgrade it, as it looks like it could be a decent little travel laptop.
