Latest Box - Birdseye Maple
The suede is just sitting in there right now held in place by the friction of the aromatic cedar edges you see. When the box is fully dried, I will attach the suede with spray glue and put a small dab of glue on the cedar to hold it in. The cedar is unfinished (no oil on it) to preserve the natural goodness of the cedar (smell, bug repelling properties). Also I have a small mirror that I am considering putting on the inside of the top lid. Not sure about that yet I have to see how it looks.
The stop hinges are Brusso and I have on order a matching knob to assist opening on the front. I am not sure I will use it I'll see what they look like when they come in. I might use none, 1 or 2 small brass knobs on the top.
I love this piece of birdseye maple. The better news is I have a lot more of it!
