For existing account holders who do not want to open an extra line but want a discount: Verizon is giving $100 off any smartphone for existing postpaid customers looking to upgrade with the code UPGRADE on the checkout page. Must choose Device Payment Plan (DPP) and line must be eligible for an upgrade (DPP paid off or out of contract). Can pay it off online after you receive the phone if you like.
Best deal, if your looking for close to free with decent specs, is the Droid Mini for $108 - $100 = $8.
The Lancets come to $20 with the same code. Works on most smartphones.

From the comments coming in on this thread it appears that you must be logged into your account. The code also appears to be targeted, though not sure how. I just used it on a line that I opened in October for the trade-in deal. I have a been a vzw customer for a few years.

I successfully received the Droid Mini. Will use it for back up.

Are there any upgrade fees?

There are no upgrade fees if you're upgrading with a device payment agreement or purchasing a device at full retail price. The $40 upgrade fee would apply if purchasing a tablet or other devices that are 2-year approved. If you're not totally in love with your new device, return it within 14 days of the date of purchase and the $40 upgrade fee will be refunded.

Forgot to mention: must choose Device Payment Plan. Will come to $0.33/month, or pay it off entirely after your first bill

Keep getting "Unfortunately, this promo code can't be combined with the other promotions already on this order. You can be confident that we've applied the codes that will give you the very best deal"

I have tried last couple days with "UPGARDE" code. It didn't work on my account even I have 3 lines eligible for upgrade. So, it's probably targeted code.

Not sure if joking or typo, but just in case - you might want to check the spelling of the code you're entering.

Earlier the UPGRADE promo code was targeted. Login to your account fresh; if you get a popup dialog box for this promotion saying upgrade and get $100 off with an upgrade; you should be able to use it.

do you need to return your existing phone if you upgrade a line?
only prompts me for "early upgrades" to return the phone that's currently on the line... but my phones are also coming off of 2 year contracts from an older Nationwide 700 plan, i switched to the More Everything 10GB plan before they made the change to the new S/M/L crap. slowly moving my phones to DPP to drop my bill. 1 phone was out of contract so i changed to DPP over the weekend and got the Mini, 2 phones are up in May 2016 but are eligible for the early upgrade which i'm currently looking for cheap used phones to drop on the lines so i can switch them to DPP and not trade in my good phones, and my last phone isn't up until Sep 2016 so it's not eligible for the early upgrade...

hope that helps. i'm new to DPP, but i've been flipping phones for a while with my 4 lines and 2 year contracts... but they recently changed the upgrade rules on my 2 dumbphone lines, stating i couldn't resign a contract and get smartphones without them charging me for data on those lines. so the dumbphone lines stopped making me money (600-700$/yr flipping phones), which made it time to switch plans and get my prices down.

By upgrading your current no contract lancet phone, you are now agree to keep line active for three months before ending it?
