Shop Best buy via American Express Rewards and earn e-gift card

$50-100 = $15 e-gift
$100-200 = $30 e-gift
$200-400= $60 e-gift
$400-750= $120 e-gift
$750- 1000= $225 e-gift
$1000 + = $300 e-gift

This is possibly good if you are looking to purchasing Surface pro 4, 4k TV etc.. (you can still return or handle price matching via best buy customer service)

It kind of worded weirdly. As if u need to have enough points to buy to total amount of the item

It would help if you were more specific and detail how this works out.

I was just thinking that. If that's true, then the only way that this is worth it is if it's like those Amazon promos where you can use the promo code as long as you use just one rewards point. Otherwise, it's not worth it since rewards points translate to 0.50 cents per point.

I'll do it if I can use 50 points to be eligible for the offer, and then pay with cash/credit on the difference of the $1000+ item. Will that earn me a $300 e-gift card, or will I be stuck with a measly $15 e-gift card?

After looking at a product on the membershiprewards.com/shopping website, mousing over the "more details" link will display the following text:
Quote :
After you make a purchase (excluding shipping & tax) of $50.00 or more from Best Buy on membershiprewards.com/shopping, you will receive an e-Gift Card from Best Buy as follows: $50.00 to $100.00, a $15 e-Gift Card; $100.01 to $200.00, a $30 e-Gift Card; $200.01 to $400.00, a $60 e-Gift Card; $400.01 to $750.00, a $120 e-Gift Card; $750.01 to $1,000.00, a $225 e-Gift Card; and $1,000.01 or more, a $300 e-Gift Card.
This excerpt doesn't say anything about using points. It only says after making a purchase and discusses price ranges. However, this contradicts the promotion headline that says "use your points to purchase something at $50 or more to earn a e-gift card.

I don't see that there is the ability to purchase Best Buy gift cards from membershiprewards.com/shopping so I don't think this is possible.

Thanks for providing this information. One issue that I see is that it seems to force you to use all available points. I have about 70,000 points and would prefer to only a portion of those for the first $50 of my purchase.
