Hello SD Gurus!

I'm looking for ONE device that can help me transfer display from pc/iphone/ipad to my tv.

I think something like chromecast might work? or apple tv?

Thanks for help!

I would get the new Google Chromecast! For mobile devices it's great and will do just what you need.

Please go more into depth on what your looking to do. Specific apps, devices etc.

Chromecast might be a good choice but we need to make sure it will do everything you are wanting.

Last I heard, Chromecast from iOS devices was still a pretty bad experience due to iOS limitations that prevent lockscreen controls. It probably wouldn't be my first choice if you have a lot of iOS devices.

An Apple TV is likely to work better for you and supports screen mirroring for iphone, ipad, and pc (though you'll need a 3rd party app for that one).

Apple TV will let you mirror the entire screen wireless to your TV. Is this what you're trying to accomplish? It'll do it!

here are more details:
i stream high def movies on my iphone, ipad, and pc

i'd like to change display from above devices to my tv.

i'd like ONE device that can handle all of above scenarios.

so far sounds like chromecast works well for pc, but not ios
apple tv works well for ios, but not pc.

Yup, AppleTV should work.

I used to do this exact thing for Plex until the new AppleTV came out and Plex released a native app.

Do you stream from a service? Generally you'll get better quality and performance if you use an app on the media player rather than streaming to your phone and then casting your phone display to a TV.

Plex (mentioned) above is a popular choice for local content. Otherwise, you should check if the services you use have native Apple TV apps.

FWIW, in terms of compatibility with streaming services, nothing beats Roku. You can also cast your PC screen to the Roku, but there isn't iOS or Mac OS X support that I know of.
