Editor's Notes & Price Research

Written by Corwin

Purchase of this phone includes triple minutes (3x Talk Time, 3x Text, & 3x Data). This means that every paid Airtime Minutes you add to this phone will be tripled (For example, add a 60 minutes Airtime Card and get 180 minutes Talk Time + 180 Text + 180MB Data). - Discombobulated

This is a continuation of a previous post credited to SPLSinsider. That poster had this deal for $5. I decided to see if I could get another phone and was able to get the deal for $10. The previous $5 deduction code in the original post has expired, but the code below works.

1. Anyways, go to http://www.tracfone.com/e_store.j...k=buyphone or as explained below try the website that rhymes with rebates.com
2. Enter Zip Code and click on "Continue" and activate in your area by clicking on "Yes"
3. Locate the Phone: Samsung Galaxy Centura Android Phone and click on "Select Phone"
4. In cart, apply promotional code: TFHOL20OFF

Price should be $9.98 w/ free shipping FexED 3 - Day Shipping (shipping cost should be deducted at final checkout). Anyways, I used the 3 day shipping. I don't know if other shipping options are free.

Specs
800MHz Processor
3.5" Touch Screen
3G/Wi-Fi w/ Bluetooth
Android 4.0
3MP Camera/Video Recorder
GPS Capabilities

Including tax I got this shipped free out to me for $10.78. Not as slick as the original deal but still reasonably cheap for a extremely low end android phone with 180min talk time that doesn't expire as long as you use it every 6 months from what I understand.

I already bought but poster "house kitten" appears to have used the website that rhymes with "rebates" for cash back.

go to website that is Rebates.com without the "R" and search "TracFone"

If that works this deal could actually be a money maker for some.... I am not an expert on that website....
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

 for the same $200: 20 deals: 3,600 5 $40.00
   1 $200 card 4,500 1 $200.00

Bottom line, the best (normal deal not sale deals) vs this deal…. $50 more gets you 4 years more with the same # of minutes / text / MB

This coupon code works on other phones too.

This and most phone sold by TracFone have have an extremely poor track record when it comes to security updates.
This phone is still suffers from these vulnerabilities (among others): heartbleed (ssl) and stagefright.

A few years back, it was a decent phone. I remember a time that those razor thin phones were all the rage and they were a dumb as a rock.

what's wrong w/ the razers. they had the best camera and screen. i'd go back to them, .....simple because people waste time on games and mindless junk.

What's wring with them? Subjectively nothing. But they weren't super computers like today's phones yet people paid hundreds for them. That was all point.

Are you sure? You have to select the 3 day shipping for $4.95 or so. Then before you actually click the submit order or confirm order button on the last page, the shipping cost has been deducted.

So this means that $10 is just the initial fee, there are other fees afterwards correct? When my verizon phone's contract is up, I am thinking about getting a tracfone as my Ring+ backup phone

What's the cheapest plan for a year with this?

You are right. The $4.95 will be deducted at the last page. bounce

I tried 3 cards and get this message with each one and BTW no balance on any card: The following Error(s) occurred: Your order could not be completed due to authorization problems with your credit card. This could be caused by a declined card or an error in the information you've provided. If you feel your card is valid, please re-enter the required information.

I keep reading people paying as little as $6.67 per month for having a Tracfone...but supposedly the best deal for air time is the 400min card (3x=1200) making monthly cost $8.33 based on the cost of the card. How do I get it down to $6.67 with triple min and carryover? Plus I like only having to "reload" once a year (maybe 6mos).
