TU!

I have one and it's a fabulous camera. I'd rate it as one of the all time "classics". In certain ways it's better then the newer LX100 since it's smaller, lighter and has an integrated flash.

It's also one of the best macro cameras I've ever used at 1 cm min. focus distance.

Wow, nice! We've had an LX7 and GX1 for a few years. 9 times out of 10, I reach for the LX7. Just such a fantastic little camera.

I bought this camera 2 years ago when Panasonic had a Christmas sale for $279 free shipping. Best investment I ever made. It will produce better video than a camcorder in the upwards of 400 dollar range. The lense is sharp and fast and the full manual control is amazing. This is a wonderful deal and will serve great as a stills camera as well. I have a footage from the Lx7 on my youtube. Type in "iGlide Lx7" and you will see my glidecam video pop up.

I bought it in Nov 2013 for $269 from Amazon (no tax back then either). The price range was $269 - $329 that year.
That said, it is an excellent camera - price wise, you guys be the judge.

Amazon has the LX100 + $200 Gift card for $699 = $500

I have the LX5. Should I get skip LX7?

I have the LX7 and just bought the LX100.

The LX100 will get you a larger sensor, viewfinder, better control layout, UHD video and WiFi/NFC. Manual focus is much easier on LX100 due to the control ring.

However the LX7 has a tad more zoom and is lighter/smaller and has the pop up flash. The LX7 is "kind of" pocketable. The LX100 is not.

LX7 does slightly better closeup macro (1 cm vs 3 cm).

I don't see a dramatic difference in IQ.

I'm keeping both for now.
