If you have a device that like a Nexus phone with "quick charge" you would want to look for one that has the qualcomm certification, I believe in order to really benefit.

Nexus phones...at least the new ones...are USB-C. To really benefit, you need a usb-c charger, because these USB-A chargers cannot push 3A regardless.

Even this one isn't "perfect"...it's confusing.

Qualcomm QC is NOT used on Nexus 5X and 6P,but it is on the 6. Different animals, same purpose.

thanks. I have a N6 and it is qualcomm quickcharge 2 compatible. I believe the charger that it comes with has it built in. I just picked up a Tronsmart with 3 ports, one is quickcharge, the other two are not but I think support 2.1 amps.....bla bla bla. Anyway in playing with the N6 I certainly see a dramatic improvement in charge times.

Technically, it's is. Smilie (edited)

But for those with newer Nexus phones...

Run Ampere and see what you get. The OEM charger should push 3 amps.

But the tests show your charger may push within 100ma of the OEM charger.

My general conclusions are that it's pretty obvious that the LG official 5V/3A USB Type-C charger that comes with the Nexus 5X pushes the most current and should then charge the phone the best and fastest. That's no shocker of course, because it's the official charger. In this latest round of results, though, I did see the Tronsmart car charger almost equal it in terms of output.

N6 is not N6P. Same site.

thanks both for the useful info. I do not think that the Ampere app works too well on the N6, it lists the charging rate as "turbo," and the other figures do not seem too accurate. It might be that my phone is currently almost fully charged. I will look at it again later when the battery is low.

You're right..thanks. I forget that Nexus phones are built by different manufacturers.

That's probably why it doesn't. If it only measures amperage, it may report that lower amperage QC charging (at higher voltage).

Give it a year...it'll get sorted out. Wink
