Want to find the best deal possible on a 2014 15-inch Retina Macbook Pro

Hi all,

I am looking through eBay (specifically "completed listings") and Craigslist, trying to find what the going rate is for this laptop. I am looking for something that is used or refurbished, but is still in excellent condition. I specifically don't want a 2015 MBP because, while I love the SSD speed, I hate the force touch, and far prefer the feel of the 2014 MBP.

I notice that the processors on these are a little different. Is there any kind of difference between the core i7 2.2 ghz vs core i7 2.5 ghz? I am also a bit iffy on the storage - 256 GB seems a little low, but maybe I can make it work, with an external usb drive. I suppose if the price difference is drastic enough, I can make 256 GB work. Also, the video card - How important is it to have discrete graphics? Lastly, Apple Care - I'm wondering if any of you guys would purchase something like this w/out Apple Care.

Almost forgot...Regarding Craigslist, I'm wondering if it's worth the risk. You basically have no protection when you're going this route. Would you guys consider this option?

Thanks.

Anyone else want to vet this deal on a refurb from Apple? (same 1-yr warranty as a new one): http://www.apple.com/shop/product...US-AFF-PHG
