I recently had issues with Freedom Munitions ammo. Low powder caused a bullet to get stuck in the barrel and the next shot caused the barrel to expand out in the middle. $140 for a new Glock barrel and I ended up sending almost 2,000 rounds back. After several weeks, they still have not replaced the ammo. After buying more that 10,000 rounds of ammo from this place, I'm done with them.

You should be paying attention if it doesn't go bang correctly and you suspect a squib load maybe don't hammer the trigger again?

This, my friends, is what you SHOULD NOT do. I am surprised you didn't look down the barrel from the front to figure out what went wrong.

I agree 100%. Unfortunately I did not notice anything strange when I pulled the trigger. Had I suspected anything out of the ordinary, I would have immediately stopped shooting and inspected the gun.

I try not to make a habit of looking down the looking down the barrel from the front. At least not when the gun is assembled.

Had I known there was an issue, I would not have continued to shoot. With double hearing protection and the Glock 43 being a fairly small gun, I did not notice any difference in the sound or recoil. I'll be paying much more attention in the future.

At te end of the day, Walmart Perfecta brand in 9mm, .357 mag and .45 acp is a better deal than this or any online deals....even with PA tax and it's made by Fiocchi. The Cabelas Herters is a good deal at $10/box when you can get free shipping. This deal....meh.

That's pretty hard to do when shooting full auto and the main reason I won't buy any more ammo from freedom munitions for my SWD M11-9. I bought a case of their "new" 147 gr. 9mm to shoot suppressed. The brass cases they used was flawed. There was a ring scored around the middle of the case. First round went bang just fine but the case split in half when extracted leaving the front half still in the chamber. When the next round was chambered, it only went in half way leading to an OOB detonation. Luckily no one was hurt, but that barrel still has that half of brass case stuck in the chamber.

I'm not willing to pay to send it back, so I'll just shoot it in my revolver.

Their reloads have been OK for me.

I hope they have changed the vendor from which they purchase the cases. If the case has the headstamp "Ammoload", then send it back. Better yet, contact them and ask what 9mm case they are currently using.

If walmart was the only place to buy ammo, I've have to sell my guns.

Sellier & Bellot makes that for Cabela's. It has always been GTG for me.

Never said Walmart was the only place. But when they have what you want, the Perfecta is good stuff at the right price. Only the Herters Select is made by S&B. That's the stuff I've been getting. It's not at that good price often though.

Can't say it's better than ANY online deals, including this one, WalMart, that is. Perfecta runs me $10.60/box after tx and I can't buy a case at a time. New Freedom 9mm brass delivered to my door at the same price beats schlepping to Walmart...IF you have one nearby...especially slick if you are in the boonies or subscribe to the WalMart is evil mantra.

I wouldn't have a case.5 of Freedom ammo on the shelf behind me IF it had cost me MORE than the others.

Never said it was ultra slick.... I will happily participate when a super slick 9mm deal comes along...on quality ammo, of course.

I know. I wasn't clear enough I guess. I would never spend a dime at walmart. I subscribe to the WalMart is evil mantra.

Fair enough. I don't have a view one way or another. They are there and they sell the ammo I want at fair prices.

the key is to time a 10% off sale WITH free shipping. that's how you get really great per round prices. the stockpile of freedom that i have was acquired at the following rates

9mm = $0.16/round
223 = $0.26/round
38 special = $0.19/round

i would never buy Freedom's stuff unless it's close to those above per round prices. if not, then as others say you're better off just buying brand new ammo either from Walmart if you can find it (Perfecta) or hopping on a Herter's sale at Cabela's w/ free shipping. Perfecta is extremely YMMV at Walmart though
