Is this the kind of knife that New York and Baltimore try to insist is a "switchblade", i.e. an illegal knife? Curious and figured an SDer might know without me having to wade through a million Google hits. Reps for hard info.

Yes, many jurisdictions will forbid assisted opening knives such as the Kershaw Blur. Alot of knife vendors won't ship to NY anymore at all due to fear of prosecution over tough knife laws.

3.4 inch blade length means legal trouble in some CA cities. Seems like a nice knife.

Eh, don't do anything illegal and cops usually don't bug you about your knife lol

D'oh! I already have 2 but bought 3 more. laugh out loud I love the speed assist opening, but mostly just use them to open packages and mail. Might start using them to cut food, but don't want to have to start washing them.

I noticed that my s30v is not as sharp as the other blades, and I always thought it was because the harder steel makes it tougher to sharpen.

I was disappointed that some were made in China; I ended up sending it back, mostly because it didn't have Speedassist.
