This Laptop is a powerhouse for a small form factor Laptop, specially the dedicated Graphics. Just want to point out one thing, as per the Asus official specification, the Graphics card is having GDDR3 memory instead of normal DDR3 memory and GDDR3 is lot faster that DDR3 memory. However, not sure about this.

The dedicated Graphics card will come handy while using Audio and Video editing apps and specially for playing 4K contents with very high Bit rate and 50+ Frames per second.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

No man, I am correct. DDR3 is here for long time and GDDR3 is completely different approach. In fact you will be surprised to know that GDDR3 is actually based on DDR2 design, not DDR3.
You can get the details here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GDDR3

The main reason why GDDR3 is much faster is its ability to do a read and a write within the same cycle. This lets the graphics card move data around much faster as it would not need to consume 2 cycles to read the memory then replace it. Objects on-screen are represented within memory; when they move, the corresponding entries within the memory are also moved to different memory locations. System memory may not benefit as much with such a capability so it is rather costly to implement the same features within DDR3 for such minimal gain, if any.

gddr3 is nothing special... gddr5 is the much faster graphics memory reserved for the higher end cards (some 950m and higher). ddr3 is the standard system memory which has recently upgraded to ddr4.

DDR3 is GDDR3. The G literally just means graphics. This laptop (which I'm currently typing on) uses GDDR3. The GT940 typically utilizes GDDR5 memory, and in this case, has GDDR3 to reduce power consumption.

Great laptop by the way.

No DDR3 is not GDDR3 and they are completely different architecture. Please check the link I have posted. Even I think that Asus might have mistakenly mentioned GDDR3 instead of DDR3. But that does not change the fact that DDR3 and GDDR3 are complete different design.

I know that. But all I am trying to say that, if a GPU has GDDR3 memory over DDR3 memory, running at same speed, it will perform better as GDDR3 is tailor made for being used with GPU and has lots of tweaks

Very nice unit all the way around. Too bad you have to play the ASUS "light bleed" lottery. On average only 1 out of 5 panels is good enough to keep. ASUS has the shittiest panel refusal standards in the industry. It literally has to look like the Aurora Borealis for them to refuse it for use. A close second are the shitty Bezos panels in the kindle fire tablets. They are about as brilliant regarding light bleed as Blue Origin's afterburners. Both companies should be ashamed for peddling those crap screens.
