Hi,

I recently used some reward points (+real money) from a Chase Freedom card to purchase something on Amazon.com. I found a better deal locally and want to return the Amazon purchase but I'm worried that the refund won't give me back my points, just the real $ I spent.

Can anyone tell me how this works and will I get my points back if I return the item?

They will credit it back in the method you purchased it.

I had a few items where Paribus [paribus.co] netted me price adjustment refunds. The original purchases showed up as:

Quote from $25.94 item :
+ Bonus from 4Q 5% category: Amazon.com 103.76
+ 4Q Extra 5%: Amazon.com 129.70
+ 1% (1 Pt)/$1 earned on all purchases 25.94
The "return" from the refund showed up as just:

Quote :
+ 1% (1 Pt)/$1 earned on all purchases -1.36
Therefore I believe that the extra 9% isn't clawed back, as it were.
