Dont understand why people complain about certain speeds
Its going to be faster than a HDD in real world applications, espcially with smaller files when the SSD can access those files much faster than a spinning hard drive.

All these read/writes speeds and benchmarks are purely synthetic
Just like RAM speeds (1600/1800/2200/2400/etc)

I'm in the market for a SSD, is this a good company and price?

Nice price. Anyone tried this in a PS4? Judging by the height (7mm) it should be compatible, at least.

Yeah, but the Read speed is solid, at least. This is where most people expect improvement in an SSD anyway - load times, boot time, etc.

@aznmidude

I did some research and it looks like this drive gives great read/write speeds for the price (513 MB/s write, 488 MB/s read).

At this storage range, the closest is a 480GB Crucial BX200 at $130 which gives 540 MB/s read and 490 MB/s write.

I would say this is certainly a buy.

Wouldn't the samsung evo 850 be better than this anyway?

looks like its a MLC drive

" The drive itself is powered by the SandForce SF-2241 controller and the NAND is Micron MLC NAND. "

Are you sure about that? Right in the specs on Newegg, it says it's an SMI controller. In addition, I have never seen a SF ssd provisioned for 512gb, they always seem to be 480gb.
