Hackers got Linux on PS4 running a Gameboy emulator. Next stop PS2 emulation and other cool stuff. Pirate

Interesting, but I wouldn't call this hacked. More just that they can use it as a computer now. No root access to the ps4 os so no playing unregistered games.

Even the hardware price and value doesn't make much sense here for a pc.

Kyle: Dude! I almost thought those Afghani kids talked you into not liking America.
Stan: No, dude. America may have some problems, but it's our home. Our team. And if you don't wanna root for your team, then you should get the hell out of the stadium.
Kyle: Yeah.
Stan: <salutes the American flag> Go America.
Kyle: <salutes> Go America...
Stan: Go Broncos
Kyle: Yeah go Broncos.

It is something I suppose. It is similar to unlocking the bootloader on a phone. You may not have any ability to screw with the OS or alter it, but you can blow it away and put something else there.

I haven't done the price comparisons, but having a decent spec Windows machine at that form factor for $300 may be interesting. Similar to an Alienware Alpha if they can get all the devices functioning. Even if they can't get it playing PS4 games I may be interested in it for a mini PC build.

If I recall right, it is a mid grade AMD GPU and some kind of 8 core CPU running at a lower clock than designed with 8 gb of ram. That may be enough for some current gen PC games.

Edit:
It has an 8 core Jaguar and GDDR5 ram shared between the CPU and GPU. If you can actually get windows games working on this I would certainly buy one just to do this. That whopping 16 mbs of vram may be an issue though.
