Some of us want a simple, clean setup that the family can operate without sacrificing TOO much audio quality. Put another way: when the wife keeps going I to the bedroom because that one has a sound bar that she can figure out, it's time to simplify. ;-)

unfortunately, only way you're going to know if you listen to both in same environment. sound does have finite to it, based on room, quality of sound, volume, positioning, etc

for 500 bucks, buy yourself an amplifier with 2 polk monitor 70s speakers and you will thank yourself. The amplifier and speakers type setup has unlimited upgrade potential (if you want to buy a sub or more speakers later) and the sound quality honestly doesn't even begin to compare to ANY soundbar type setup. Regardless of the brand, these stand alone soundbars are usually just slightly better than the built in TV speakers.

$500 for any soundbar subwoofer or no makes me scratch my head. That kinda money would purchase a good quality for real surround sound system. But if you just got to have a soundbar, I'd be willing to bet a $200 setup would sound pretty darn close to this one and your wallet would breathe a sigh of relief.

Ive gone through a few soundbars. You would be surprised at what 200 dollars buys you. Cr@p imo.

I bought this set last week at Fry's B&M floor model for $350 before tax.

very YMMV lol

I love the quality of the sound and the bass is awesome. I use it for my living room TV as well as to play music on my phone via BT.
