Hey guys,

I didn't see this posted, so I thought I'd share.
This item is also Premier eligible.
NOTE #2: The Total Defense rebate requires that the software must be activated prior to rebate redemption. Activation will require a valid credit card however your subscription may be cancelled at anytime. A one-year subscription is included so this will not cost extra if you cancel the automatic renewal service. Please see the wiki for additional details.

As someone who has bought two of these I feel they should come with a warning.

1. There is no active cooling (fan). Hard drives dont like heat and without a fan blowing over them will not last as long. Might be an issue, might not. My 5400 rpm drives got up to uncomfortable temperatures in these.

2. If you eject a drive while windows is booted you will get a blue screen of death. I use win 7 and ive gone through several intel mobos (z77, z87 etc). Despite the sata ports supporting hotplug and the controller being set to ahci in BIOS I still get blue screens. Even if the drive wasnt being accessed by windows. It doesnt happen *every* time but 80%+.

Wow. I don't think the game is worth the rebate.

I picked up the cage on the last rebate offer, though.

I hate to post this here but does anyone know of a computer case/chassis that has hot-swap bays? I'm looking for one that has a switch on each bay that allows you to turn the hdd on/off.

A perfect time to sign up for a 30 day Premier trial subscription or as in my case to use my free 1 year + 30 days Groupon offer from last year. Smilie

I just ordered a SSD drive to be the boot drive for my desktop, and I understand this is meant to easily swap drives, but any reason not to use it for a permanent boot drive?
