what headphones are you looking to drive? it is my understanding that the jds will provide more power (over a watt at 32 ohm) but the denon decodes higher resolution formats (24/192, dsd).

so if you have easy to drive cans ( such as hd598) and an army of super high res music files, the denon maybe a good choice. however, if you have cans that need more power (perhaps hd600) and listen to say, spotify, then the jds maybe a better choice. having heard neither that is as much advice as i can give, merely looking at the tech specs on both. cheers!
No one needs most of the stuff posted on SD.
not snake oil, you just need the right hardware.

it won't automatically make your music sound better, but if you you have high-end high impedance cans with a high quality lossless music library, this will definitely make a difference.

but yeah, i have seen a lot of peoples setups... you'd be surprised how many macbooks with 160kbps MP3's in itunes and Audio-Technica M20's with $200+ DAC/Amps shake head

Anyone know of a review between this amp and JDS Labs Element? I am in the market for a new headphone amp and both look very tempting.

Tech aside, I do like that the Element is made in the USA. The Denon is made in China.

You may wish to look into Schitt Audio as well.

what is a good portable/wearable dac or amp? source would be high bit rate mp3s on a note 4 or nexus 6. the fiio units I have tried all seem to have loose connections at the jacks...either lots of static, or one channel goes in and out...

I have some new lovely black friday cans I wanna get the best sound from using my phone....

I have read so much & I'm thinking about Cayin C5 for my HE400i. I haven't bought it yet, I'm still debating between Fiio E12 & Cayin C5

In for one with $24 coupon that I just got from Adorama. For $200, it is not bad.

Anything special needed to playback flac in dsd mode? is it automatic?
Thinking of grabbing this to use with my HD600's. I have some flac content but not if that's all I need to play back in DSD.
