looking for a new student laptop

wtfuxx 6 10 January 5, 2016 at 04:46 PM More Best Buy Deals
hi!

looking for a new student laptop (preferably. not sure if i should trust open box but open to opinions on this!)

budget: 300ish , plus 300$ Best Buy gift card.
usage: student things, word processing, internet browsing, music, light photo editing. taking it to school/library on occasion
when: trying to buy ASAP to replace seven year old laptop
battery: longer is better, preferably at least 5 hours

OS preferred: windows or mac..
un-preferred brands: Dell
aesthetic: doesn't matter
screen resolution: not super crappy
weight: portable enough to carry in a backpack (Less than 5 pounds preferable)
size: 15.6 inch or less
optical drive: not necessary but would be cool
sd card reader: necessary
processor: at least i3
RAM: at least 6GB
hard drive space: 250GB or more. SSD preferable

I've been looking at the following

asus q302la: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-...Id=4201600

lenovo yoga 3:http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenov...Id=2637111

asus zenbook: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-...Id=4637106

the yoga is some out of my price range but it seems like it got great reviews. the only thing stopping me is the 128GB space. the q302la looks standard enough with a fair-ish price. zenbook just looks super cool.

ive been on SD scouring deals for so long, but since i've been waiting so long i can probably find the patience to wait longer if you guys predict any future deals coming out.

so what do you think? should i grab one of these laptops now or wait it out?

you can try on Microsoft site as well. sometimes they give 10% student discount but thats at usual price and another point you won't be able to use best buy gift cards. or for additional discount you can try open box system from best buy

thanks for the tip! I'm a little wary of open box because of possible modification but I'd like to hear more opinions on this!
