Washer & Dryer Set at Best Buy

TheNakedMan 86 12 January 6, 2016 at 05:37 AM More Best Buy Deals
So I'm moving into my first townhome....

I've got the Best Buy mover coupon 10%, I have $10 off via a rewardzone, $130 in gift cards, so it just makes sense to get it from there.

I also have a discovercard / applepay, so I was hoping to maybe get another stack there...but not sure if I can.

I was thinking of getting a nicer washer, and delaying a dryer as I have all the stuff to hang my clothes. I work from home, so I don't require too much drying. However my gf might disagree with me.

I was looking at the following Washers, however I'm open to just about anything:

However, I'm tempted to order this dryer:

Just curious why a top loading washing machine over a front? I personally wouldn't go back to a top loading.

If the deal was good enough, I guess I'd consider it.

They seem to constantly have a moldy smell from my friends, and he has a 2k+ one

True sometimes about the front-loaders smelling. After a wash, there is some water that gets trapped in the front load rubber trim that the door fits into. If you shut the door completely, it can case some odor, but if you leave the door open to let it air dry (or better yet, take a cloth and soak up that water) then you have no problems. I have a front loader for the past 5 years, and never had the smell, because i dry out that rubber after i'm done washing, and it's been fine. in-laws too busy to dry out that rubber ring and they have the smell, not a big deal though, the clothes still come out smelling fresh.

that aside, if you have a sears outlet nearby, have a look at their stock. You can sometimes find a great deal, and have money left to get the extended warranty (although you never know when sears will go out of business).

also, check some smaller appliance stores, they can sometimes get you a good deal on last year's model. and keep checking lowes/home depot for a sale, and then PM to best buy

and yes, get a dryer at the same time.

So I went into Best Buy.

I found an open box on the first Samsung with a matching dryer.
I negotiated the price down a bit, and my out of pocket total was just at $700. Sweet deal considering regular price was $629. Free delivery too.
