Why does it only try to claim 250lm vs the 300lm the Ultrafire/Fordex claims?

These lights suck balls. I got one around a year ago, exact same one and they are not bright at all and cause a big square hotspot.

I like these lights. I bought 10 of these a year or two ago. (The picture looks identical, but I don't know if the LEDs are.) The focus is quite handy, and I like that they only need one AA, instead of 3 AAA. Not crazy bright, and they don't get super long life, probably because one AAA can only do so much, but I find them quite useful to have around. I even duct taped one to my BB rifle for a tight spotlight. At the tightest focus, you can actually see an image of the LED element projected onto the wall.

I have it, it drain the battery and works great on AA and work much better on 14500. The 300lm is probably on the 14500.

250Lm of light powered by a 14500
"Up to 250" when powered by an optional higher voltage 14500 battery, which none of us will do, might be the answer. Hey, for under 2 bucks, if I didn't already have several variations on this still NIB from prior more expensive deals, I'd definitely get one.

I thought the same thing at first about the 300lm, until I figured out that the beam is adjusted by pulling the head in and out, not twist. If you look at the full website page, it shows you how.
