want to replace cable modem that comcast sent me

br1ckhouse 339 50 January 9, 2016 at 08:21 PM More Amazon Deals
comcast finally realized that they weren't charging me for the cable modem and I have an extra $10 to my monthly bill.

While I can easily just buy the same model, I was looking around and found this for slightly more: http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-Arc...B012I96J3W

Are there any other recommendations for modem + wireless router in one devices? I have blast for internet.

2 separate devices is generally preferable. It's hard to beat the SB6141 for modems.

+1 on two separate devices and using the sb6141. However if you have phone service through Comcast you will need a telephony modem...look at the 822g..you can find the for about 50 dollars refurbished or about 100 new.

using this site [comcast.net], I am thinking of getting the sb6183, as it says the 6141 is reaching end of life.

I also found that the wirecutter suggested getting the router from t-mobile since I'm a customer with them.

thanks for the help and suggestion use two devices.

It doesn't show the 6141 as end of life for me: http://mydeviceinfo.comcast.net/d...?devid=336

You have to weigh the price difference and the speed tier you currently subscribe to in evaluating what modem to get.
