Agreed, I thought I could at least do the math from the coupon, but even the coupon only says "$1 AER/AC". Unless I can walk out the door for $1, I'm going to have to smh at staples on this one. Although I might wait until store opening later in case their system is just being weird, and since this coupon is only for in-store.

By following this weeks ad it probably works out this way:

$29.99 you pay - $20 easy rebate = $9.99
$8.99 is instant= $1

So you pay $21 up front.

They are gone. History.

Best deal this week still seems to be a case and a half and a 25/75. But more expensive this week. If I'm doing the math correctly, it's better to pop the 25/75 on the full case this week. The half case coupon takes off $9 but the full case coupon takes off 54-39 (rebate)- 9 (final price)=$6.

So it's $25-$15-1= $9MM (minus possible cost of coupon).

Plus cost of the coupon? Or is there a way to generate those easily?

I only use one ream at a time.
I viewed the $1 reams as a 'come on in and look around' promotion.
It worked that way for me; I never walked to the paper, paid, and left; I always browsed around.
Buying a half or full case may be cost effective, but I'm waiting until
they see the 'error of their way' and bring back the $1 ream.

If that never happens, then I'll just have to pay the $3/ream or whatever it is.
THEN, I will walk directly in and out; having paid full retail for what I needed.

Why didn't our usual OPs post an official "weakly" Staples thread this week, so now we have 3 separate threads going on?

1. This thread.
2. http://slickdeals.net/f/8432023-staples-8-5-x-11-multipurpose-paper-case-8-99-after-easy-rebate-and-with-coupon-in-store-only-expires-1-16?v=1
3. http://slickdeals.net/f/8432105-8-ream-case-of-staples-8-5-x11-copy-paper-4000-sheets-total-7-99-after-rebate-free-shipping-staples-com?v=1

As mentioned in these threads, there appear to be good paper deals with rebates still, but there doesn't seem to be any discussion of the 10 ream case which shows as $8.99 after rebate and coupon online. I realize this week there's a 10 ream case coupon meaning you can only use the $10/$50 if you find $10 worth of non-couponed filler items, but still a good deal.

So aren't these the paper deals we have this week?
- blue 10-ream case - $53.99 - $6 coupon - $39 ER = $8.99 (limit 4)
- blue 5-ream case - $29.99 - $8.99 coupon - $20 ER = $1 (limit 4)
- ONLINE: blue 8-ream case - $46.99 - $39 ER = $7.99 (limit 2)

I've never bought a 8 ream case before, and I don't plan to start now since it's online only and in the prior weakly thread I saw several posts that rebates on kiosk and .com orders are not working except if you fix them via chat. Well, the last time I had a rebate not work and couldn't submit it online, I was denied in chat 3 times and told I had to call the rebate company. After about 20 minutes trying to explain to the rep, I was told it was fixed. Then a month or two later I got a rebate denial postcard on the "fixed" rebates I called about in the mail the day after the deadline to fix the rebate expired. When I called and another long hold time, I was told "too bad".

Long story short: NO MORE STAPLES.COM REBATES FOR ME unless they fix them. I absolutely do not want to waste my time chatting or calling Staples about rebates.

When people like you have posted that ream rebates are gone, they must mean individual reams because if you look on staples.com/coupons and the 3 threads above (including this one) there are still clearly rebates on the 5 ream, 8 ream and 10 ream cases. So far it appears the "all paper rebates are disappearing" rumor hasn't happened.

Also, where do you see that the full case is supposed to be $6 after coupon and rebate? I see $8.99 when I look.

1. Yes somebody else commented about the single reams and I was responding to that.
2. I wasn't saying the full case was $6. I was saying the value of the coupon was $6. So it's better to attach the 25/75 to that, since the coupon isn't as valuable.
3. I did the same online deal and got the same postcard. I also messaged again to deal with it. If I understand it correctly, the postcard is irrelevant, and we will still got the rebate. I assume when you initially dealt with the situation you got a new tracking number...I think the postcard is for the original tracking number.
4. Paper deals are going away. There will be half cases through the end of this month. Single ream deals are done. Personally I think at the end of January is when paper deals will all be done, but maybe it will drag on longer. It's weeks or months at this point. There was speculation that everything would end on January 1st, but that was all it was.

5. Just a reminder, rewards should be coming out later this week, so best to hold off, although there should be similar cashing out opportunities later this month since we know the half case promotion lasts a while.

I don't follow the paper deals much but what is the deal with the Staples rebates?
