OPEN ONLY TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF HAMPDEN OR HAMPSHIRE COUNTIES IN THE STATE OF MASSACHUSETTS WHO ARE AT LEAST 13 YEARS OLD AND ENROLLED FULL-TIME IN GRADES 9 THROUGH 12 IN A PUBLIC, PRIVATE OR PAROCHIAL SCHOOL IN HAMPDEN OR HAMPSHIRE COUNTIES MASSACHUSETTS AS OF THE DATE OF ENTRY AND WHOSE PROM HAS NOT TAKEN PLACE BEFORE APRIL 30, 2016.

HOW TO ENTER. There are two (2) ways to enter (described below). No matter which method your choose you must include an original essay of no more than 300 words describing your achievements as a student at your high school and why you deserve to win, including examples of your academic achievements, awards, extracurricular activity and community service, along with an official entry form which includes your name, home address, phone number, the name of your date, school, and the location and date of your prom ("Submission").

To enter: 1) visit www.masslive.com/mailforms/prom-contest during the Promotion Period and follow the instructions to complete and submit the entry form.

2) deliver your Submission in a single envelope to MassLive LLC at 1350 Main St., 4th Floor, Springfield, MA, Monday - Friday, during normal business hours in the Promotion Period. Official entry form will be available for download and printing at www.masslive.com/prom anytime during the Promotion Period or may be picked up at the office of MassLive LLC, 1350 Main St., 4th Floor, Springfield, MA during regular business hours from January 18, 2016 through March 7, 2016. Hand-delivered Submissions must be hand-printed or typed in blue or black ink on 8" x 11" standard white paper. Entrants represent and warrant that their Submission is truthful and the original work of such entrant, it has not been copied from others, and it does not violate the rights of any other person or entity.

All entries will be judged on or about March 14, 2016 (the "Judging Date") by a panel of judges comprised of Brenda Garton (Western New England College), Cherise LeClerc (WSHM) and Kelly Dempsey (Project Runway Season 14 designer). The judges will score entries based on the following criteria: creativity and originality (50%), entrant's school achievements (25%), and clarity of writing of the essay (25%).

PRIZE DESCRIPTION. There will be one (1) winner. The prize package is one (1) prom dress courtesy of Just B Clothing, maximum size 16, one (1) tuxedo rental provided by A Formal Affair Tuxedos & Tailor Shop, transportation service on winner's prom night for one (1) hour before and one (1) hour after prom provided by Peter Pan Bus Lines for up to twenty-five (25) friends, one (1) corsage and one (1) boutonniere provided by Durocher Florist, two (2) hair styles and/or cuts for winner and date, makeup and nails by DiGrigoli Salon, and the photographic services of Robert Charles Photography who will document the winner's prom night. The approximate retail value of the prize package is $2,744. All other expenses, including gratuities, are not included.
