So $99 yearly membership fee + no 0% intro APR option = no deal.

i would suggest waiting for both the SWA Premier and the Plus card to offer 50k miles, to make it easier to the companion status.

I wouldn't suggest that. it's very likely that the plus card gets the 50k offer a month after. plus u have to spend 2k on the premier card to get the points anyways, so you have time. the companion pass has to be earned before the end of this year and will be good until next year (December 31, 2017). :-)

get both cards
spend 2k on each card within a year
get both bonus points which end up being 104k points
spend 6k more
earn the companion pass with 110k points

= a deal

Stupid question...asks for business info...can an individual apply? I clicked the link for non-business owner, and it only offers 25k.

I was able to apply without a business the last time around. This time, I was not. After the application was over, I was given a message to call an 800 number. They basically said that I did not provide enough on my business (I gave the address and phone but not the Tax ID number) and that they would be sending out a letter asking for Tax ID number etc. Thankfully, I do own my own business so I should be able to jump through the hoop. I was just hoping to leave my business out of it. Looks like that won't work.

Also, its not a credit thing. My credit score is quite good and they tapped a credit score (thanks credit karma, good monitoring!) and still wanted they business's info.

I got a 40k points offer when I applied for the Plus two weeks ago - was hoping to hold out for a 50k round but I have some work trips coming up and need to book airfare (2x points for every dollar spent at Southwest) - so I pulled the trigger now to make my life easier.

This will bring me up to ~200k points. Now I need a vacation.

I believe so. Might have to transfer them after the fact.

Maybe you should check why ppl get this card, lol. If I need $0 fee card and need the 0% APR then I this is certainly not for you.Others will enjoy the perks and just pay off their bill monthly.
