NO THESE ARE NOT THE ORIGINAL THEATRICAL EDITIONS..
Those haven't been released since DVD and if you read the thread you can find out why

It's obvious that by page 7 anyone still asking that question is either trolling or hasn't read through (can be done in about 5 minutes) the first 6 pages.

The unaltered, original versions of Episodes, IV - VI are being released in the near future, it was recently announced. Something to keep in mind.

No, but there's a heavily abused tax loophole called the LVCR that online retailers regularly use for physical media. Once DVDs/CDs/Blu-Rays are imported from a non-EU country (which are usually lower in price to begin with, due to local salaries, language differences, etc), they are essentially tax-free if their stated value is below 15 GBP (~$21).

The abuse comes in to play as most retailers always state the items are valued at or below 15 GBP (saving the retailers 20%), and then sell it for whatever their cost was originally, plus a smaller markup.

First the Aliens set, now this. What's up with Amazon UK deals beating Amazon USA? Even with shipping it across the ocean with free shipping, it's way cheaper. Are Blu-rays under price control in the UK or something?

Unless this is steel book it should sell for 60 not 70 but that being said...

Lucasfilm has continued to mess with these movies. The ESB scene with the Emperor is all messed up and the ROTJ scene where Vader finally turns on his master - dammit does that scene ever make me mad now.

Do what you want with your money but these are increasingly not the movies you remember from your childhood.

Spoiler alert! :-P

I was trying to read through the comments on the store page as far as which version this is. Do you know all what changes are in this? I keep wanting to hold out for a blu-ray release of the original versions, but am starting to cave.

I recently bought used versions of the 2006 releases of episodes IV and V, which include the unremastered versions of the films, in addition to the digitally enhanced ones. The quality of the original films is meh, as they aren't HD, of course. Trying to find ROtJ, but that's proving to be harder and more expensive Stick Out Tongue

I love Amazon UK for BDs and for DVDs, especially things like dramas and UK mysteries. SO much cheaper than buying at amazon.com. DVDs are PAL/Region 2, but my player and TV support the format, so I have a lot of them.

The only downside is that if there are digital copies included in BDs you buy at Amazon UK, DE, FR, etc., you can't redeem them in the US. I wind up sending the UK keys to my son, who lives in London.

I still have/watch the IV-VI DVD versions that have the theatrical versions on a second disc. Refuse to upgrade to bluray until they release the thatrical version.

Disney is not one to snooze on a money making opportunity so hopefully happens but read it may not be that easy since fox has distribution rights for OT.
