Best Buy has the Philips Hue starter kit on sale for $130 which includes the V1 hub and 3 BR30 bulbs. Match the Black Friday price last year. Beat recent deals by $10, good for 5 PowerBall ticketsLMAO

Best Buy also has The Bloom starter kit (2 blooms) for $100 which is a great deal considering they are normally $80 for one. Thanks Sid3ways!

How is this a good deal? One for 60 instead of 2 for 100 from best buy and a free hub?
Good deals:
For those who just need more blooms:
Philips 259945 Frustration Free Friends of Hue Personal Wireless Single Lighting Bloom for $60, or awd for $50ish
http://www.amazon.com/Philips-259...00I12YFP0/

To keep the switch on, you can buy some switch guards:

YMMV on Staples 110% price match!

Philips - hue BR-30 Starter Kit - Silver/White now available for in-store pickup only on bestbuy.com and Best Buy via eBay

You can buy a starter kit just for the bulbs and then add those bulbs to your current hub. Use this app: http://www2.meethue.com/nl-nl/sup...lampfinder

Sell the old hub on eBay for a few dollars.

1st gen -- anyone have an opinion regarding brightness? I'm looking to replace three 60w standard-shaped leds in my living room with these.

These are the same a 2nd gen bulbs as the brightness was not raised to 800 lumens like they were in the A19. I think these work great.

I found that they were a little dimmer than my regular LED BR30s but definitely bright enough. I went from V1 to V2 and didn't notice any discernible differences.

If I already have a hub, I'm guessing I can resell the one that comes in this box - is it individually boxed, so I can sell it as new? I'm wondering how much I can get for it.

Are there ever any deals on bulbs, V1 or V2? I'm getting a $200 Apple GC that I'll use to purchase the V2 starter kit but I need some extra bulbs.

If you have an iphone the big difference is Homekit. I can tell siri "turn on all exterior lights" or "turn bedroom light to 50% brightness, or "turn all lights to red" etc... It's awesome for Homekit users

Sell it as new, but with the 2.0 bridge being at $40-$60 I can't see you getting more than $20 for this. I plan to buy this kit since I have $50 in BB gift cards and will hopefully sell the hub to make a little money back. The bulbs are normally $60 each so it's a decent deal.

You can buy a starter kit just for the bulbs and then add those bulbs to your current hub. Use this app: http://huetips.com/lamp-finder/

Then sell the hub to make some money back.

That app (or one just like it) used to be on the official Hue website but I can no longer find it there.

EDIT: Found the official version: http://www2.meethue.com/nl-nl/sup...lampfinder

Don't know what the differences are.
